The South Korean Company "Hanwha Systems" recently gave an exclusive Interview to the prestigious Defense Publication "Jane's" where they gave some important updates about the Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) that South Korea (SK) is currently building for the Philippine Navy (PN)

They said that the first of six of these OPVs will be delivered to the Philippines on the first Quarter of next Year of 2026. They also said that these OPVs will be using the latest Version of their Naval Shield Combat Management System (CMS), the Baseline 4

Note that the two Jose Rizal class Frigates, the first Guided Missile Frigates of the PN, also are using the Naval Shield CMS, but the older Baseline 2 Version as these were delivered earlier several Years ago.

The Contract for the CMS of these six OPVs is worth Usd 29.5 million, and that these will be delivered to the SK Shipbuilder who is building these OPVs, Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), later this Year in March 2025.

The PN OPV by the Way will be based on HHI’s HDP-2200 Design of which its Scale Model I have Pictures and Videos of taken during the last Asian Defense and Security (ADAS) Event here in the Philippines. I haven’t released them yet since I wanted to make a Commentary about them before I do so.

But I will try to do it soon since after looking around the Internet, I realized there aren’t a lot of Pics and Vids of them yet.
