The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) recently conducted Joint Naval Exercises off the Coast of Zhanjiang in the Guangdong Province of China.
The RSN sent one of their most advanced Surface Combatants, the RSS Stalwart (72) which belongs to their Formidable class Frigates, while the PLAN sent two Ships, the Sanya (574) which belongs to their Type 054A Jiangkai II class Frigates, and the Hejian, a Type 082-II Minesweeper.
The Naval Vessels of both Countries had to overcome the Adverse Weather Conditions while conducting their Exercises, which included Fleet Movements, Navigating a simulated Mined Area, simulating Joint Missile Strikes on Targets and conducting joint Helicopter Operations.
This is the third Joint Maritime Exercise between the two Countries since 2015, with the first two being held in Singapore. This Event marks the first time that the Exercise was held in China.
The Vessels were also opened to the Public for Exhibition while in Port in Zhanjiang as Part of the Exercise, which was held from August 30 to September 5 of this Year of 2024.
