More movements regarding the Acero-class, Fast Interdiction Craft-Missile (FAIC-M) of the Philippine Navy (PN) after the BRP Herminigildo Yurong (PG-906) was given an Arrival Welcome Ceremony in Davao City after its deployment to the Eastern Mindanao Command (EASTMINCOM) Joint Operational Area (JOA).

The BRP Yurong is one of the two FAIC-Ms in Service with the PN that is armed with Spike Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) Missiles which has a range of around 32 km. The Picture shows Major General Luis Rex Bergante, the Commander of EASTMINCOM visiting the Vessel and behind him is the Missile Launcher of the BRP Yurong which can be armed with eight Missiles at the ready.

Great to see Davao being given such a great importance by the PN that it is assigning one of its newest, Missile-armed Ships in its Area.

April 12, 2024: PN test-fires Spike NLOS from a FAIC-M for the very first Time
The Philippine Navy (PN) recently successfully test fired a Spike Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) Missile from one of its Fast Attack Interdiction Craft-Missile (FAIC-M) as part of its Acceptance Terms and Training Deliverables.

The Missile reportedly hit the Target that was 20 km away off the Coast of Bataan. Two of the Acero-class FAIC-M Vessels will soon be commissioned as PG-906 and PG-907 and will be part of the PN's Littoral Combat Force (LCF)

I believe that this is the very first live-firing of a Spike NLOS from a PN Vessel that was announced to the Public, so this is quite a Historic Moment for them also.
