The rhk111 Military and Arms Page: Philippine Artillery Troops seen again using AK-47s, Marines should too to match their RPG-7s

Another Picture has surfaced online of the Troops of the Army Artillery Regiment (AAR) of the Philippine Army (PA) that were armed with AK-47-type Rifles, this time it was the 10th Field Artillery "Rolling Thunder" Battalion who were seen standing and sitting beside their Autonomous Truck Mounted-howitzer System (ATMOS).

Several Months ago I posted a Video showing a couple of Units of the PA that were seen training with their AK-47s, and it had proven to be quite popular. It seems that Filipinos have this fascination with the AK-47 Assault Rifle, it was initially seen as the Weapon of the “Enemy”, the Soviet Union as back then the Philippines was strictly allied with the United States (US).

Some Comments in that Video said that the Rifles were likely to be the “AKM” due to the distinctive slant-cut Compensator at the end of the Barrel, and these were also likely the ones given by Russia and China to the previous Administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) Troops were again seen training with their new ATGL-L2 Rocket Launchers, which are an RPG-7 type of Weapon. In one of the Pictures, we get to see more clearly the more modern PG-VL Anti-Tank round that they are using of which I had made a Video about last March of this Year of 2024.

Looking at all these Pictures got me into thinking, what if the PMC arms some of their Units, like maybe some Squads, or even some Platoons, or perhaps even an entire Company with AK-47 type Weapons also?

If they did that, that will make them some of the few Units or maybe even the only Units in the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) using both the AK-47 and RPG-7 Weapons. This will probably give the US and their devoted Filipino Fans, some of whom can be found in the AFP itself a Heart Attack, seeing Philippine Units armed with two types of Soviet Weapons.

That is something for the Marines to think about, and hopefully something that they will eventually do. On a Personal Note, I just wanted to say that my Favorite among the AK Family of Rifles would be the AK-74M, I just find it extremely beautiful with its all black Front and Rear Stocks and distinctive side-venting Suppressors. It is just one beautiful Firearm.
