The Indian Press has been announcing the delivery of a "fourth" Battery of BrahMos Missiles to the Philippines, and if so, then this is an additional Battery as the News Reports and Government Statements from the past Years has always only mentioned three Batteries that were bought based on the Contract signed by the Duterte Administration back in January 2022.
It is possible to buy an additional BrahMos Battery because if I recall correctly, the Philippines' Procurement Law does allow for a follow on order as long as it is only half the Quantity of the original Contract. Since the original Contract was for three complete Batteries, then half of that will be one complete Battery.
The Duterte Administration signed the BrahMos Contract late into its Term already, hence if an additional order was made, I think it is likely to have been done by the Administration of President Bong Bong Marcos (PBBM).
But there has been no official announcement made by the Government of PBBM about this, nor has there been any mention of this in the Press, so this one is pretty much unconfirmed for me. The only sort of possible Clue to this was when the Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. told the Press that they were considering ordering more BrahMos Systems.
But he was quite vague about it and gave no other Details, so I thought he was referring to the Philippine Army's (PA) planned order of the BrahMos System also for them, and not necessarily a fourth Battery for the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC).
Anyway, it is also very possible that the Indian Press just misinterpreted a BrahMos System Shipment as a "fourth" one already though.
It would've been welcome if the Philippines did buy another Battery on top of the three it had already bought, so hopefully somebody will clear this up, either the Philippine and/or Indian Government, or the Manufacturer itself, "BrahMos Aerospace Limited".
Let's wait for more official announcements about this, hopefully it will be made sooner.
Interestingly, the Indian Press also mentioned that there will be "four Missile Launchers" per Battery, and as I have shown in the Past Videos and Articles, there will only be two Missiles per Launcher. So that means that there will be a total of eight BrahMos Missiles for each Battery for the Philippines.
